Finance Manager

  • Competitive Salary: £30,000 per annum
  • Annual Leave: 22 days, with an increase of 1 day for each full year worked, up to an extra 3 days
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

Our client, a dynamic and thriving company, is seeking a Finance Manager to lead their finance department and play a pivotal role in their continued success. We are excited to represent our client in their search for a talented Finance Manager.

Role Overview

As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, providing leadership to a dedicated and diverse finance team with varying degrees of experience. Your role will encompass a wide range of financial activities, including commission payment processing, sales and purchase ledger management, credit control, data input, reporting, supplier and customer management, stock control, and more. Your contributions will be integral to the financial stability and growth of our client's organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, support, and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee sales and purchase ledger activities, manage commission payments, chase overdue accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and group VAT returns, while identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and third-party vendors to manage obligations and resolve queries.
  • Financial Control: Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and various control accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Stock Control: Manage stock levels and optimise inventory control processes.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilise Xero and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, to streamline financial operations.
  • Leadership: Use your management experience to motivate the team and ensure efficient departmental performance.
  • Adherence to Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards.

Personal Requirements

  • AAT Level 4 or equivalent (QBE)
  • Previous experience in a professional office environment
  • Essential proficiency in Xero
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Essential management experience
