The Role
We are looking for an exceptional regulatory lawyer based in London to join our global Legal team and lead our Legal & Content Compliance Team to support AlphaSights dedicated Content business. The Legal team is a dynamic, external and internal-facing function which supports all aspects of the business across all offices, from Tokyo to San Francisco. As Senior Legal Counsel you will report into the General Counsel based in London and work closely with the Legal, Client Protection and Content teams as well as a number of other stakeholders across the business. We will provide you with the autonomy and independence to support AlphaSights Content team and enable you to build, grow and lead the Legal & Content Compliance Team. You will be encouraged and empowered to take initiative and have hands-on ownership for the legal and compliance requirements of the Content team. This is an ideal role for someone who s keen to flex their legal muscle, build and lead a team whilst having direct access and exposure to the commercial, regulatory and organisational workings of a dynamic, innovative and high growth global business.
The role will have a broad range of challenging legal work, including:

Implementing and enhancing robust and clear policies and procedures for the compliant delivery of expert knowledge to our clients by the Content team

Counselling the Content team on the best legal and compliance practices in connection with the delivery of expert knowledge to our clients

Engaging with AlphaSights clients on the contractual and legal processes that underpin the delivery of content by AlphaSights

Partnering with our product and engineering teams to identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and mitigate risk using technology

Navigating complex and novel legal issues regarding regulatory matters, confidential information, intellectual property, technology, data privacy/GDPR and content

Build, manage and lead a global team whose responsibilities include:

Reviewing and approving expert transcripts, specifically to ensure that all information complies with applicable laws and AlphaSights legal and compliance policies

Setting the highest legal and compliance standards for all AlphaSights content

Providing legal training to the Content team and other stakeholders

What you ll need
- BA/BS/LLB from a top university in the UK or other relevant law degree
- English qualified solicitor, with at least 5 years experience at a top firm, in-house or at a regulatory authority.
- Experience in the regulatory matters, and ideally experience working at an applicable regulatory authority and / or in financial services / securities.
- Experience in dealing with regulatory and securities related matters (a corporate law background is a plus)
- Experience in the drafting and negotiating client-facing commercial contracts
- Skillset to build, manage and lead a team
