Job Purpose

Business Analyst within Wholesale Banking Europe ( WBE ), to provide the COO, Wholesale Banking Europe and wider WBE team with;

  • Dedicated support across the main Product Pillars and Responsibilities of WBE as set out in this job description;
  • Support the strategic agenda and own specific business analyst tasks relating to it;
  • Support the Bank s Change agenda and transformation, including digital transformation & related digital client engagement to achieve operational excellence;
  • Support and ensure that key governance mechanisms are in place and potential risks (business, audit, risk, compliance etc.) are identified and resolved/mitigated;

Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Deliverables

The Business Analyst supports the COO, Wholesale Banking Europe and wider WBE Leadership team by driving disciplined business analysis, supporting the change agenda, promoting a collaborative culture and transparent communication across the European Team to enable it to meet it s strategic & business objectives. Accordingly, the Business Analyst has the responsibility to achieve the following:

Support Business Performance, Business Strategy & Implementation

    • Understanding of WBE Product Suite to support business development initiatives, including preparation of new-to-bank product papers and approvals, including preparation of related internal presentations and co-ordination with key internal stakeholders within the bank to support such initiatives.
    • Support WBE leadership in achieving strategic objectives, annual budgets and KPIs by working closely with WBE Coverage, Product and Geography businesses in developing, communicating and embedding their individual business strategies/plans.
    • Support WBE to devise, implement and deliver strategic initiatives to help grow the WBE business.
    • Oversight and consolidation of the Pipeline SharePoint data, to provide WBE Management with relevant MI (Product & Coverage) and co-ordinate with Group in preparation of monthly Group WBE Pipeline calls.
    • Co-ordinate with Group Business Acceptance Committee ( BAC ) in respect of any transaction that require Group BAC Approval.
    • Assist in the build-out and embedding of the Bank s portfolio/performance management framework
    • Join client meetings or site visits from time to time, to support with requirements linked thereto.


    Support a high-performance culture & change agenda

    • Support various Change Management or Project Management initiatives on behalf of WBE, including digital transformation.
    • Lead requirements gathering, refinement and documentation (i.e. user stories/ BRDs / FSDs etc.) across all WBE change and digital banking initiatives, and act as the interface between the business and IT (development) teams
    • Conduct testing as and when required.
    • Assist in driving the Bank s digital toolkit across WBE via both Group & Locally led initiatives.
    • Develop training manuals and train users, as relevant, across change initiatives.
    • Document, identify and support improvement in processes and seek out efficiencies by suggesting new solutions using technology.
    • Monitor turn-arounds times, both within WBE and other internal stakeholder in Europe and Group to improve time-to-money , such as the credit process.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting by the WBE Businesses by coordinating with the relevant internal stakeholders as required, to include monthly MI to Group Product & Coverage Heads, Tombstone preparation etc.
    • Prepare WBE input for CEO Townhalls, ManCom and IB Board Meetings.

    Support the WBE leadership team on key strategic initiatives

      • Support the development, assessment, implementation and monitoring of change/transformation initiatives ensuring appropriate governance mechanisms to enable agile, consistent and effective delivery.
      • Pro-actively co-ordinate with other Business Analysts/Managers across the European Bank and Group entities where relevant, to ensure full alignment on initiatives and transparent communication.


      Support WBE operational excellence

        • a) Support enhancing and embed end-to-end processes aligned to market best practices across business units and all support and control functions (Locally & Group Head Office) to seek efficiencies across business, and with a broader view of digitizing all processes via workflow solutions.

        Business Policies, Procedures, including Risk & Control (audit, risk and compliance - ARC)

        • a) Support the monitoring and co-ordinate timely completion of internal Audit Issues with each of the Audit Issue Owners.
        • b) Update the GRC Tool as and when required

        Any other activities that are initiative, project or ad-hoc led that may be requested.


        Knowledge

        • Basic understanding of Wholesale Banking Product Suite (Global Transaction Banking and Real Estate).
        • Stakeholder management abilities, natural and pro-active communicator.
        • Strong technical business analysis skills and previous experience working in an agile environment
        • Technical system knowledge & experience (i.e. Excel, Power BI, SQL, Visio, Office 365 power suite and other data analytic tools) is highly desirable


        Experience

        • Appropriate level of experience in banking or similar sector, including a consultancy background with a financial services focus and business analyst skills (2-5 years).
        • Track record of delivery and versatility
