Finance Manager 

Starting Salary - £26,000 p.a.

Hours - Mon - Fri

 

Our client is a successful UK company based in Bury, GMR. They are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to their team.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carrying out regular financial reports, both on systems and spreadsheets
  • Close monitoring of the company’s financial invoicing system to ensure all invoices are accurate and sent in a timely manner
  • Responding to and resolving any client invoicing issues
  • Regular monitoring of the company’s financial credit control and taking appropriate action where required
  • Daily/weekly reporting
  • Analysing the P&L to ensure accuracy of postings
  • Taking the lead at Month End and ensuring the key deliverables are met
  • Managing the Purchase Ledger and arranging for payment runs to suppliers to be made
  • Management of PO process
  • Management of stock control/ordering
  • Oversee the creation of the monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  • Supervise, support, and develop the hard-working, loyal finance team (who have varying degrees of experience)
  • Build on and review finance processes, procedures, and efficiencies
  • Review internal controls, and strengthen where necessary
  • Administration of pension and payroll
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Reconciling inter company accounts
  • Reconciliation of various control accounts
  • Provide financial information to the Head of Financial Operations as required.
  • Prepare group and individual VAT returns
  • Excellent communication skills with experience of supporting, influencing and challenging teams
  • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
  • Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and are providing the best value

 

Person Specification:

Essential

  • AAT Qualified or higher
  • Up-to-date and all-round tax knowledge including VAT / PAYE / CT
  • Bookkeeping and financial reporting experience with an understanding of company groups
  • Experience of managing payroll
  • Experience of preparing VAT returns through Xero and Bridging software
  • Significant experience of Excel
  • Significant experience of Xero
  • Hard working and able to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Prepared to learn how to use bespoke systems
  • Hands-on working knowledge of financial software and advanced Excel skills
  • Great people skills and an interest in developing up-and-coming talent
  • Working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to step away from the details to be able to see ‘bigger picture’ and pick out the key messages
  • Must be able to pass company required credit checks and DBS

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of using finance reporting software (Joiin)
  • Experience of cloud systems and API
  • Experience of working with multiple information sources and data and analytics
