SEN Specialist Learning Assistant 1:1 and Small Group Sutton

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Learning Assistant in Sutton to work with students with speech and language difficulties. Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with speech and language difficulties assisting them in developing communication skills.
  • Work closely with speech and language therapists SENCO and teachers to implement tailored learning plans and interventions.
  • Help adapt classroom activities and materials to meet the specific speech and language needs of students.
  • Monitor and record student progress providing regular feedback to teachers the SENCO and parents.
  • Support students in building confidence in both verbal and nonverbal communication.
  • Assist in the delivery of speech therapy exercises and communication strategies under the guidance of specialists.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with speech and language difficulties in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and relevant SEN strategies.
  • A patient nurturing approach with strong interpersonal skills to support students communication needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team collaborating with teachers therapists and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications in SEN support speech and language therapy or teaching assistance are desirable.
  • A DBS check is required.
