TPF Recruitment Kents leading accountancy practice recruitment agency is seeking an Accounts Senior to join a thriving firm of chartered accountants in Rochester Kent. Due to continued growth the firm is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a background in accountancy practice to become part of their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients including notforprofit organisations such as charities and membership bodies as well as some corporate clients.

The successful candidate will manage a full range of accounting tasks for sole traders limited companies and partnerships covering accounts preparation management accounts tax bookkeeping and VAT.
  • Preparing management accounts to a yearend standard including lead schedule reconciliations and wage journals
  • Collaborating with clients teams on adhoc requests and preparing budgets
  • Completing quarterly VAT returns for clients
  • Monitoring and summarising monthly cash flow
  • Producing monthly reports including detailed profit & loss statements departmental ysis variances balance sheets and updating forecasts with a focus on transitioning from Excel reports to Power BI
  • Reviewing and coordinating budgets with all budget holders
  • Preparing and submitting returns to the Charity Commission
  • Conducting monthly meetings (inperson or virtual) to review management accounts and financial matters with national heads and the COO
  • Attending Finance Committee and Audit & Risk meetings throughout the year
  • Presenting financial updates at four annual Board meetings including time for preparation.

Requirements

  • ACA/ ACA qualified or qualified by experience
  • You will have substantial experience within practice preparing accounts management accounts tax and other responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders partnerships and limited companies.

You will be ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience with at least 3 years experience within practice. You will have worked as Semi Senior or Senior accountant within practice Experience of Iris and cloud software such as Xero/ Quickbooks would be advantageous
