1.5 months contract with a local authority

Job Summary:

Responsible for undertaking all daily cleaning and ociated activities required towards maintaining hostels and communal areas including all office and other amenities particularly kitchens bathrooms and toilets within the Council s Temporary Accommodation (TA) Hostel portfolio.

Key Duties/Accountabilities:

Utilise a variety of ods and equipment to ensure all hostels and communal areas including all furniture fittings and equipment sited in the communal areas are cleaned thoroughly regularly and frequently following a programme of work in order to ensure that Councils hostels both internally and externally are kept to a high quality standard of hygiene for the safe use of residents.

Take responsibility and ist the Technical Services Team Manager and team members in maintaining Health & Safety Standards within Hostels exercising self awareness at all times.

ist with any practical matters in the daytoday running of hostels being vigilant by reporting deficiencies and/or misuse of equipment or non occupation of rooms by residents.

Essential Experience Required:

Proven experience of large scale cleaning either industrial or domestic.

Experience of working with the public in and diverse multiracial environment.

Experience of working on own initiative as well as within a team environment prioritising and successfully managing a personal caseload of work.

Experience of following elished processes and procedures.

To ist with the supervision of an area within the borough to ensure compliance with building control legislation, including the Building Act and regulations, and the London Building Acts. This is a large part of the daily workload, and includes office meetings, plan examination, appraisal of calculations, preparation and authorisation of letters, supervision of work on site, testing, identification of contraventions, enforcement, including attendance at court, and the maintenance of records. To draw applicants attention to other statutory requirements affecting their proposals. To ist in liasing with and report matters relating to the activities of other sections, as required, including DC, Environmental Health and Local Land Charges and ensure statutory consultation with external agencies is carried out as necessary and to work cost effectively.
