Quantity Surveyor

Job Purpose
Our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor based in the Crawley office. You will be responsible for a range of interesting projects from inception to completion. Ideally you will have experience within the construction industry and be able to build strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
Overview of Responsibilities
- Undertake costing activities for NEC3/4 contracts, manage change control, set up and managing supplier frameworks.
- Commercial management of quotes/tenders for projects review and compile payment applications for contracts before signature.
- Provide sound commercial knowledge and support to project stakeholders.
- Provide cost advice, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting in line with budget.
- Resolve any commercial disputes with clients and suppliers
- Completing RFQs and RFI s for bids
- Review payment certificates against applications and overall commercial performance of projects.
Requirements
Essential
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts
- Able to manage change control under NEC3/4 principals
- Adept at Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to brief work teams and develop strong relationships with clients and suppliers
- Cost Management
- Estimation and valuation
- Right to Work in UK
Desirable
- CSCS Card folder
- Experienced in compiling quotes and tenders
- Ideally degree or higher qualification in a relevant subject
- Preferably hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent RICS

Experience /Skills required Essential: Experienced in use of Electromagnetic location and ground penetrating radar, along with the use of total stations and GNSS acquisition. A good understanding of common industry practices and standards in regard to utility detection, such as PAS 128 and TSA Good working knowledge of surveying equipment, such as GPR, CAT and genny utility detection equipment Flexibility to travel to our sites nationwide. Able to work collaboratively in a team and deal with clients on site. Clean & Full driving License Desirable: CSCS Card folder (This will be required before starting work) GPR Post Processing Experience AutoCAD / N4CE experience Utility Surveying Experience QCF Level 3 or Level 5 for utility mapping
