Growth & Automation Engineer







Carbon13 is the venture builder for the climate emergency. We are selecting and supporting 1,000 entrepreneurs over 5 years who will build scalable ventures with the potential to reduce carbon emissions by over 400 million tonnes.
We are currently looking for a Growth Engineer to work on our systems with the goal of creating efficient internal processes and a world-class community experience for our cohorts of founders, startups, and investors. For the right candidate, this is an excellent opportunity to bring engineering and product skills to bear on a range of impactful and scalable decarbonisation projects.
This vacancy is for a fixed term of 3 months, 5 days per week, extendable to 6 months if required. The role is remote but the right candidate should be in close proximity to Cambridge or London as we try to meet up face-to-face at our Cambridge office.
Tasks
- Make use of APIs and other tools to automate a variety of internal processes and connect disparate tools and user-centred approach
- Map out and take ownership of the architecture of our internal and external-facing systems Create and maintain a data model that will drive our processes
- Analyze data and build dashboards that measure success and progress metrics
- Create internal documentation that effectively enables self-serve use of our technology stacks
- Make use of APIs and other tools to automate a variety of internal processes and connect disparate tools together
- Be willing to take on a variety of additional tasks related to assisting our portfolio companies, improving internal operations, and growing the Carbon13 brand
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree or higher in computing science, HCI, or a related discipline, or at least 3 years experience in a similar role
- Direct experience creating dashboards, reports, and working with multiple data sources
- Direct experience of content management systems, APIs, and web technologies like JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
- Knowledge of using agile development tools (e.g., GitHub, Trello) and the ability to break big problems down into smaller deliverables while keeping the big picture in mind
- Strong analytic, project management, communication, and stakeholder liaison skills
- Highly collaborative, enjoys discussions about architecture, design, and user experience. You re confident, a great listener, and you seek to simplify the complex
- Sensibility to modern design patterns and experience with HubSpot, Microsoft tools, and WordPress are a big plus
- An appreciation and understanding of DEI and a genuine passion for finding solutions to climate change
