To carry out Facilities Electrician activities to support existing, new and developing business. The Facilities Electrician role is directly responsible for all activities pertaining to specified areas of responsibility. All activities must support the Company s overriding goals and objectives relating to Cost, Quality and Delivery.

To perform the Facilities Electrician function to sustain and improve the sites infrastructure electrical installation and maintenance standards; utilizing planned and preventative maintenance techniques. installation of efficient services to site for high precision, close tolerance, metal machining components using machining and assembly equipment

Tasks

  • Develops project plans, identifies milestones and puts in place contingency measures for all projects.
  • Assumes accountability for electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Delegates and tasks colleagues as appropriate, at all levels of the organisation, to ensure successful completion of projects. Includes escalation of problems.
  • Communicates progress to project stakeholders at all stages.
  • Delivers results on time, in full
  • Responsible for specifying and purchasing all equipment within electrical services area of responsibility e.g. HV/LV systems, switchgear, etc.
  • Develops, implements and actions planned and preventative maintenance of site infrastructure electrical services in line with latest legislation
  • Identify the need for upgrading or replacing electrical services equipment
  • On-site capability testing in line with statutory legislative requirements
  • Arrange delivery of the electrical services equipment and timely staff training.
  • Maintain all site electrical services drawings ensuring modifications incorporated
  • Ensure any new circuits are tested and relevant test documentation completed and recorded in database
  • Determines scope of electrical requirements and obtains sub-contractor quotation as required
  • Responsible for arranging and co-ordinating sub-contractor activity on site, ensuring compliance with legislative and BorgWarner health, safety and environmental standards
  • Defines and maintains electrical equipment standards
  • Delivers quality improvements and efficiency improvements to specified deadlines supported by thorough research and documented evidence.
  • Actively seeks to develop and implement cost reduction projects
  • Prepares and maintains all documentation to support area of responsibility as required.
  • Defines and ensures safe working practices are designed into all electrical maintenance processes and that these are followed
  • Continuous improvement activity.
  • Ability to meet cost reduction targets by implementing energy usage reduction initiatives.
  • Ability to lead and participate in multi-functional teams to achieve desired results.
  • Maintain high levels of professionalism and positive work ethic.

Requirements

  • BS7671: 2008 Requirements for Electrical Installation, (IEE Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition)
  • City & Guilds 2391 Electrical Installation Inspection and Testing
  • Experience with specifying, purchasing, installation and debugging of Electrical High Voltage / Low Voltage systems
  • Experience of a medium volume / high variety automotive machining and assembly environment
  • Experience of managing sub-contractors.
