LAPPING TECHNICIAN
Our client is an industry leading gear manufacturing company. Their customers are in the Aerospace Defence & OEM markets. They are looking to employ on a fulltime permanent basis an experienced Lapping Technician. This role will be based out of their workshop located in Hampshire.
Lapping Technician The Offer
13hr to 18hr depending on experience ( 27.0k to 37.4k per annum)
Hours are MonThurs 07:00 to 15:45 and Fri 06:00 to 13:00 a 40.0hour week
Lapping Technician The Role / Responsibilities
Responsible to set up and perform necessary lapping operations on the inside and/or outside diameters of various precision parts using various measuring equipment
Assist all areas in the team when required (including lapping polishing straightening deburring part marking and cleaning of components)
Cleaning of components prior to inspection
Ensure machines are operated according to site and manufacturer s recommendations
Meet desired quantities conducting inprocess inspection and checking against technical drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards
Keep the working environment clean and tidy and practise good housekeeping
Adhere to the company s health and safety requirements and complete training as required
Work in accordance with the quality system and processes of the company
Work to Departmental and individual Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Adhere to company standards i.e. Environmental Social and Governance AntiBribery and CyberSecurity
Lapping Technician The Person
Relevant experience in engineering and working in a similar industry.
The ability to use a range of measuring equipment
The ability to read technical / mechanical drawings.
Be able to work effectively and efficiently to meet target deadlines.
Have clear and concise communication skills
