The Role

A fantastic accountancy practice based in East Kent is searching for a Bookkeeper to join their successful team, in a key role, bookkeeping, assisting with preparing management accounts, vat returns and other services to a mixed and varied client base across Kent and the South East. You will carve a key role here, adding value to clients and building relationships, within a growing team and firm.

This very successful firm of accountants, based in East Kent has developed a strong reputation for delivering quality services, along with building strong relationships with its wide-ranging client bases, across varying industries and size of client. The firm offers a very supportive and team focused environment, reflected by a low staff turnover and long serving staff.a

Joining this firm of chartered accountants as a Bookkeeper based from their East Kent offices, you will carve a key, hands on role, as you develop within this firm and environment. Acting for varied sole trader, partnership and limited company SMEs and OMBs of varying size and industry sector, you will deliver bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, and other services to mixed clients.

Bookkeeping processing and functions.
Prepare a list of required information following the completion of the bookkeeping functions.
Set up and monitor bank payments on various banking platforms.
Prepare VAT returns and submit once approved.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare system driven management accounts.
Prepare supplier reconciliations.
Purchase ledger and sales ledger functions (tagging and booking of invoices).
Credit control functions.
Build & maintain adequate knowledge within the team of all main bookkeeping software packages.

Requirements

You will have anything from 3 - 5 years, or significantly more experience within accountancy practice bookkeeping, or perhaps be a self-employed bookkeeper seeking the stability of a permanent employed position, carving a role within this team of professionals, carrying out bookkeeping services for a wide ranging client base.

As well as providing a quality bookkeeping service, the team advise on cloud accounting software and you will use your knowledge and experience to develop and utilise this experience further, as a key addition to this growing and successful division within the firm.
