An award winning and established rapidly growing Patent firm is seeking a Patent Attorney.The firm is continuing to develop at a rapid rate within the firm and are looking for talented professionals.
The Patent Attorney will cover the following areas:
Main Responsibilities
- Obtaining, enforcing and challenging patents on behalf of clients.
- Participate in due diligence projects required for investment in innovative start-ups or in preparation for a product launch.
- Draft, file and prosecute patent applications.
- Assess and advise clients on liabilities, legal restrictions, and risks of IP rights.
- Attending client, counsel and expert meetings and participating as appropriate
Requirements
You will be comfortable working in a modern, fast-paced environment where you are given a level of autonomy to do your work.
Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualified or part qualified patent attorney.
- An appropriate professional attitude (personable, well prepared, flexible and enthusiastic)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to express complex ideas clearly and concisely, and the ability to structure a precise and coherent argument
- Ability to balance knowledge of intellectual property law against commercial requirements
- Meticulous attention to detail, and an analytical mind
- Initiative and the ability to act independently
- Ideally experience in biotechnology and/or related life science topics.
