Art Teacher Sought for Prestigious International School in Dorking

We are honored to collaborate with a highly respected international school in Dorking dedicated to nurturing the limitless potential of their diverse student body. They are seeking a passionate and experienced Art Teacher to join their dedicated faculty. This fulltime permanent position offers a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of students from over 40 nationalities.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be instrumental in empowering students to develop their artistic skills and flourish within an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. This role entails fostering a dynamic and creative learning environment that encourages independent thought collaboration and a lifelong love of art.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP) Visual Arts curriculum to students in Grades 6 to 12.
  • Design and implement engaging art projects and activities that cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Prepare and mark a wide range of assessments following MYP and DP protocols.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students including those for whom English may not be their first language.
  • Teach and promote art appreciation and cultural understanding using a range of studentcentered teaching strategies resources and technology.
  • Embed IB Approaches to Learning in the curriculum delivery.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to establish interdisciplinary links.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest art education advancements.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Art Art Education or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • International Baccalaureate curriculum experience (preferred)
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Full knowledge of the subject matter and latest developments in art education
  • Ability to deliver outstanding lessons using diverse teaching strategies and resources
  • Enthusiasm and passion for teaching visual arts
  • Adaptability to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Excellent practitioner of innovative teaching strategies
