The Role

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Design plan and deliver inspiring Science lessons tailored to the needs of our students.
  • Develop Scientific Understanding: Foster students scientific knowledge understanding and practical skills.
  • Prepare for Success: Prepare students for success in relevant Science qualifications such as GCSE ALevel and the IB Diploma.
  • Encourage Research and Innovation: Promote scientific research and exploration inspiring students to become lifelong learners and innovators.
  • Contribute to the Department: Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment and contribute to the overall success of the Science department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development of the Science curriculum to ensure it aligns with the latest advancements in the field.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay uptodate with the latest teaching methods and best practices.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support student development helping them to reach their full potential.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Science Teacher: With a passion for the subject and a proven track record of success in teaching Science.
  • Strong Subject Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in a specific scientific discipline (e.g. Biology Chemistry Physics).
  • Excellent Classroom Management: Effective classroom management skills to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Inspirational Leader: Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities fostering a love of science and encouraging their curiosity.
