About The Opportunity


The EMEA Accounting Team is looking to hire an Accounting Manager. This role is responsible for Revenue and Lease Accounting for the EMEA region as well as serve as a point of contact to the financial reporting and external auditors for a number of Statutory filings across EMEA. This role reports to the Accounting Senior Manager.

Responsibilities:

Lease Accounting

Ensure the key lease life cycle events, such as possessions, amendments, and terminations are recorded in accordance with ASC-842

Timely completion of monthly close process

Perform technical research and its application to complex lease accounting situations

Prepare analytical reviews across relevant Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts

Liaison across multiple teams within WeWork to ensure lease transactions are appropriately recorded and remediate issues identified

Recommend and implement process improvements as appropriate to simplify, standardize and streamline efforts

Manage a team of two qualified accountants and an outsourced lease support team

Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors

Revenue Accounting

Review and supervise the month end close process.

Present monthly Income Statement analytics

Collaborate with the Billing team on reconciliations and query resolution

Review Accounts receivable and assess reasonableness of relevant bad debt provisions

Local GAAP Accounting

Manage relationships with external accounting service providers

Identify process weaknesses/errors and implement improvements

Provide accurate and timely completion of monthly US GAAP to local GAAP reconciliations across various EMEA countries

Support the financial reporting team on statutory audits



About You



Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

5+ years post qualified experience

Year end audit / financial statement preparation (US GAAP/IFRS)

Management and supervision of qualified and unqualified accountants

Lease accounting (ASC842)

Preparation and review of SOX compliant month end close processes

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Proven track record of process improvement
