Our client is a well established carpentry and joinery organisation providing supply and fit services across the UK and throughout Europe. The organisation was established since 2003 with an exciting and forever growing order book month to month, the business is continuing to expand.
About this opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our clients team in Gateshead. We are looking for both junior and experienced candidates for various roles.
What you will do
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Estimator, Commercial Manager and Managing Director to become proficient in pricing both bespoke joinery and all other aspects of carpentry/joinery which will be supplied and installed for a multitude of clients throughout the UK. The plan is for the estimating department to transfer to the new applicant in the future as we have serious growth plans. The day-to-day tasks include but are not limited to ensuring all new enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner, research new products and liaise with our purchasing department to get the best prices possible for materials, liaise with managers to ensure that timeframes are reachable and cost effective when pricing new work and prepare new quotations with detailed specifications.
You will bring
We are looking for someone who is motivated, ambitious, punctual and will progress quickly. Ideally we need someone who is able to read architectural drawings, be proficient in excel and preferably be from a joinery background so they can hit the ground running (although any training will be given) so this is not essential.
