Assisting the patient with bathing, grooming, and getting dressed
Handling household tasks like grocery shopping and laundry
Preparing and serving meals at the appropriate time
Administering oral and topical medication under the supervision of medical personnel
Providing mental and emotional support
Making recommendations to family members and healthcare personnel on the plan of care
Organising suitable recreational activities for the patient
Collaborating with other health care and social care professionals to provide the best possible care Maintaining care records
Recording medication administration
Monitoring any issues that are ongoing
Recording any incidents (such as a complaint or any changes in the client or their circumstance
Care of skin and hair, including assistance with shaving.
Care of pressure areas and prevention of sores.
To work within Health and Safety Regulations It is imperative that confidentiality is always respected
Care of mouth and teeth, including dentures.
Assist in the management of continence of bladder and bowel
Provide a safe environment for those who need constant supervision and help
Provide emotional support to the family as part of a caring team
