The Role

Content Strategy Manager - 12-month contract
FTSE 100 FMCG - Hybrid (Slough/London)

Reporting into Global Communications Strategy Director with a dotted line into Global Production & Marketing Efficiencies Director

The global content strategist will work across a portfolio of 13 global powerbands and collaborate with a team of 7 Communication Strategists, agency and production teams.

The global Content Strategist's primary responsibility will be to work with the Communication Strategists to translate brand strategies into future facing impactful Communications plans (aka brand 'Habitats') with an underpinning content strategy that feeds agency briefings and gets activated through production teams.

The role is global, and the person will be familiar with the different levels of market maturity, market nuances regarding consumer behaviour and content / platform preferences.

A vital part of the role will be acting as the bridge between the content strategy and the production of the recommended assets. The aim is not only to make the briefed content come alive, but to perfectly match the tonality and executional depth, therefore, the candidate will also provide clarity to the production team to help understand the objective and the scope and prioritisation of the content assets and provide input into how to work together efficiently (productivity) and effectively (best in class).
The person should be highly experienced with developing content strategy recommendations all the way through to production and which include the following deliverables output:

  • Social video, ecommerce (occasionally), identified influencer(s) content reco's that are anchored within the brand strategy Habitat.
  • Insight led evidence that supports (consumer lifestyle, media consumption, content preferences, content 'need' gap analysis).
  • Context is vitally important: formats / aspects / creative treatment / copy /CTA activation by platform.
  • Storyboarding that sells the idea or concept to stakeholders.
  • Accompanying calendar phased by asset with suggested media investment.
  • Briefing document to inspire creative development teams with sufficient executional details which also act to guide production teams.
  • Input into the development of the production strategy with the internal and external production teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within a communication/creative planning process.
  • Experience working with production strategies, processes and teams.
  • Industry standard insight tools (social listening, platform analytics).
  • Performance of different types of assets / formats by content platform based on industry best practice.
  • Ability to present content ideas with clarity and imagination.
  • Experience working with creative and production teams (knowledge of production strategy and process).
  • Design skills would be beneficial.
  • some knowledge of CRM and 1st party data.
  • The ability to translate insight into a content recommendation and how to steward ideas into execution.
  • Ability to present in front of senior stakeholders.
