We have a Foosball table and dress down. . . but we are going to take a guess at this stage in your career, these things probably aren t very high up on must haves from your next move. . .

Do any of these sound familiar?

"I m not unhappy but I would like to work with more interesting and complex clients, I want to keep developing my knowledge and leadership skills"

"I enjoy what I do but I need/deserve a better work life balance, hybrid, flexible working is what I need in my life!

"I have no chance of moving into a Director role until people retire, I want to know what I am working towards"

"timesheets drive me crazy". . .

We can t help you on the last one but the others we feel confident we can!

We re Gravita: the accountants fuelling ambitious businesses. We re a top 30 accounting firm working with entrepreneurs and businesses to help them achieve their goals, and make an impact in the world.

We re growing fast and are bringing like-minded advisors together to form a full-service tech-enabled accounting partner for thousands of SMEs. Our team use their incredible expertise alongside intuitive technology to help businesses and entrepreneurs plan better and grow faster.

Our mission is to become the UK s leading tech-enabled accounting firm for SMEs. We have ambitious goals and our high-calibre team work hard to achieve them. We are one team with one agenda, working collaboratively in a respectful environment to deliver a great service to our clients. So if you join us, you ll not only be working on exciting client challenges, you ll also be helping us shape the future of accounting.

All your experience will be fully utilised, including your ability to build relationships, trust, and rapport quickly with clients, your leadership and development of junior team members, identifying cross-selling opportunities and most of all your technical expertise when it comes to Corporate Tax.

Your portfolio will be as varied as the advisory work you will be giving both face-to-face, over the phone and in writing. Undertaking research and delivering suggestions for resolution to technical corporate tax matters including corporate reorganisations, corporate interest restrictions, international transactions, and corporate due diligence . . . all of the things that make you tick!

The Nitty Gritty

  • Our standard working week is a 37.5-hour week on a hybrid basis (50% home working, 50% office based) and hours are flexible (core hours of 10 am-4 pm)
  • Flexible working and happy employees are at the top of our list here at Gravita, so if you would still like the complex technical work and the opportunity for progression, our Partner lead tax team is half compliance and half advisory, with individuals specialising in either corporate or private client tax
  • Your development won t be forgotten, our development support is extraordinary for a firm of our size
  • Here at Gravita, you get to work in a collaborative working environment that promotes both personal and professional development and supports wellness in the workplace. Feel free to check out our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).

As with any job, we think there are a few things that would help you succeed from the start, these include:

  • CTA qualified would be great, but it s not essential
  • Strong technical knowledge a bit of an obvious one, you will need to have proven experience in providing complex corporate tax advice to a variety of clients including international clients
  • Experience within a tax consultancy/advisory-heavy role is essential (our compliance team are brilliant, and we have all of that covered!)
  • Experience of working as either a Manager or Senior Manager with an ambitious outlook and a Director role in your sights!
  • Have a desire to take responsibility for continuing to support the development of the wider tax team
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising with team members and holding meetings with clients
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to identify cross-selling opportunities

The process:

We ve developed an open and inclusive interview process so you know exactly what to expect.

Our 3 step interview process:

  1. Our internal talent team reviews all applications and will reach out to those who best fit the role
  2. You ll have at least two interviews with people from your prospective team so you can get to know each other and talk about your experience
  3. If the interviews go well, there may be a task element, depending on the role you re applying for this is your chance to prove your skills

Don t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Gravita we re dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. So if you re excited about this role but your past experience doesn t align perfectly with the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You still may be the perfect candidate and if not, there may be other roles you d be suitable for.
