Bike Club offers subscription kids bikes which you exchange as your children grow. Bike Club are looking to appoint a COO to broaden our management team and be responsible for delivering our unique services to our members across at least 5 countries. You will be responsible for all aspects of the member and bicycle lifecycle, ensuring that we have tens of thousands of happy cyclists in the club.

Tasks

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Assess problems from the first principle, analyse potential solutions, and build a business case for informed decision-making.
  • Play a vital role in developing and executing international operations expansion strategies, and navigating diverse European markets and bureaucracies.
  • Ensure that operational objectives align with the company s long-term goals and vision.
  • Assume full responsibility for the operational footprint of the business.

Process Optimisation

  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement standardised procedures and best practices to boost productivity and reduce waste.
  • Lead and manage process changes, ensuring smooth transitions and successful adoptions of new processes and technologies by both office-based and warehouse-based teams.

Member Satisfaction

  • Oversee the expansion of the UK customer service team (currently based in Gibraltar) to a European team.
  • Develop a Europe-wide platform to support our membership.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention.

Quality Assurance

  • Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure consistent high standards for fleet assets, order fulfilment and subscription management.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs.
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Leverage data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to make informed decisions and drive continuous operational improvements.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies for ongoing performance evaluation.

Leadership

  • Lead the largest team by headcount.
  • Serve as a visible and inspirational leader for both office-based and warehouse-based teams.
  • Provide strong leadership to the diverse operations teams across multiple countries.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to design and execute operations plans across multiple countries.
  • Foster collaboration and alignment between various teams within the company, promoting a cross-functional cross-border approach to achieve collective goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a COO, particularly in managing physical product operations.
  • Strong strategic planning and operational management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in international expansion, process optimisation and data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in modern workplace technologies such as Slack, Office 365 and Asana
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Tableau is a plus.
