CDD Analyst (12 Months FTC)







Job Purpose
The Analyst s primary responsibility is to act as a business support partner to Relationship Managers and assist with completion of Periodic and/or Event Driven Reviews as required. Further, the Analyst will provide support and assistance in completion of any necessary processes/forms required to initiate a Periodic Review or Event Driven Review and will act as a liaison between the Business/RMs, Compliance
Department and other departments within the bank as necessary.
The role makes use of Bank systems and external sources to gather, review and assess data to ensure that ABCIB complies with internal policy, laws and regulations for the identification and understanding of clients. The role will involve inputting data, undertaking searches and analysis of data provided for periodic reviews and event driven reviews, and ensuring any concerns or suspicions are escalated appropriately.
Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Deliverables:
- Support relationship managers to gather and ensure the timely collection of relevant CDD / KYC information and completion of due diligence in line with relevant laws, regulations, and Bank policy, processes, and procedures.
- Assess the client risk and the level of due diligence needed for the client: enhanced, standard, or simplified.
- Complete the relevant due diligence, ensuring robust audit trail is maintained in line with internal processes.
- Completion of manual customer screening for Sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media.
- When justified, make escalations to MLRO for their sign off on clients moving to/from a High risk rating.
- Identification and escalation of Politically Exposed Persons and any Sanctioned connections associated with clients.
- Ensuring feedback received from Quality Control colleagues is implemented, and high quality of files is maintained.
- Updating customer data into the Bank s systems and managing KYC alerts (Sanction / PEP) generated by the system where a client has been on boarded or because of periodic review. Take ownership of a file, seeing it through on an end to end basis.
- Liaison with other Bank ABC European offices and Head Office on KYC matters as necessary.
- Proactively respond to queries from teams and clients as part of the CDD service.
- Performing against productivity and quality targets set both individually and across the team.
- Raising internal Suspicious Activity Reports where any suspicious activity is identified.
- Ensure relevant logs and records are maintained, including PEP Register, waivers and deferrals logs.
- Assist with ad hoc projects or other tasks relating to wider AML/CDD/KYC function.
- Utilize CDD case management tool IRIS to track customer file cycle and ensure that the status is up to date.
- Participate in weekly RM calls to ensure assigned PRs are completed within agreed timeline and highlight any showstopper to Head of Business Financial Crime.
- Utilize digital on boarding tool (Fenergo) to input all relevant customer information.
- Regularly update CDD management Tool IRIS.
Knowledge
- Understanding of the compliance framework
- Understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment for ABCIB
- Understanding of cross border requirements and the application of
regulation and international standards such as the 4th & 5th EU Money
Laundering Directive, Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Transparency
International - Working knowledge of Arabic language (ability to translate documents)

Education / Certifications
- Minimum of 2 A Levels, Educated to degree level desirable
- Compliance qualification desirable
Experience
- At least 3 4 years experience working in CDD/Periodic review roles
- Previous experience of Siron KYC/Fenergo system desirable
