Tasks
You will be part of our Environmental Enforcement team, responsible for enforcing environmental legislation, including planning enforcement and envirocrime. This role requires enthusiasm, commitment to accuracy, and excellent customer service skills. You should be able to work independently, exercise judgment and initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role involves conducting site visits, investigating, and reporting findings. Work locations include remote, on-site (across Worcestershire), and our modern offices in Kidderminster
Requirements
Key Requirements:
- A-levels preferred, or a degree/further qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Environmental Health/Science, Town Planning) or a related field.
Skills & Experience:
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Ability to provide advice and information to the public and businesses on legislation related to Regulatory Services.
- Conduct routine inspections of property, land, and vehicles, collect evidence, and support information to enable enforcement decisions.
- Prepare, interpret, and analyze reports and data sets, producing summary reports and advice for various stakeholders.
- Understand and analyze complex problems, interpret and implement complex legislative provisions.
- Effective communication with various audiences and negotiation skills to gain support on key issues.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities, and respond positively and appropriately in emergency situations.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet multiple deadlines and performance targets.
- Good oral and written skills, including report writing and presentation.
