DESIGN MANAGER
Our client based in the Feltham area are looking for an experienced Design Manager on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate needs to have the experience to hit the ground running on substantial projects taking on projects from conception to completion. If you are looking to jump up rungs on the experience ladder with this role then it s not for you; you need to have at least 5 years experience at this level.
The Client is one of the UK s leading Architectural Metalwork and Structural Steelwork specialists.
Design Manager The Offer:
Salary up to 70000 Depending on Experience
40hour week
Flexible on start and finish times
Design Manager Requirements and Experience:
Managing the design program including processes information flow BIM design assurances and design resource on major projects ranging up to 10m
A good track record of solving complex metalwork problems
Representing our Client with Architects Main Contractors Engineers and subcontractors
Strong experience with Architectural and bespoke steelwork.
Must be able to read and interpret Engineer s and Architect s drawings
Able to manage design risk and mange it s mitigation
Manage the flow of technical information on the project is essential.
Ability to produce project specific designer agreements. Works will involve coordination with Commercial Project Production and Site departments.
The Design Manager will ensure that all design deliverables are reviewed to establish they are within budget. Where nominated controlling design change process management organising and chairing regular design team meetings
Knowledge of current drawing practice and standards related to 3D Model build connections detailing and fabrication drawings is essential.
Tekla experience would be seen favourably
Able to work to company s procedure and ensure the flow of information and document controlling is maintained to high level.
The Design Manger will have experience and understanding:
Strong knowledge of construction materials specifically metalwork methods and technology
Strong knowledge of planning techniques procurement and value creation
Good knowledge of contracts and contract documentation
Good knowledge of health safety and environment legislation and issues
The Design Manager will have knowledge of life cycle costs
Risk management skills
