Job Summary:
Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Leader of the Council including business coordination dealing with all aspects of mail and correspondence; telephone queries arranging meetings; diary management; servicing meetings and ensuring communication of decisions and effective followup action as required preparing and producing documents including briefing notes; filing.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
Provide administrative and/or secretarial support to the other Members of the Cabinet i.e. dealing with telephone queries; arranging meetings; diary management; ensuring communication of decisions and effective followup action as required. Any other support provided will be at the discretion of the Leader.
Receive and manage telephone calls and personal approaches in relation to services or issues affecting the Council on behalf of the Leader and other Cabinet Members
Draft replies to correspondence and undertake research tasks in support of the Leader s/Cabinet s policies aims and objectives.
To prepare agenda draft briefing papers attend meetings and produce action notes for meetings associated with the Leader and other Cabinet members.
Facilitate and actively promote the flow of information between the Leader and other Cabinet Members Directors and other personal assistants service managers and external contacts.
Essential Experience Required:
Experience of clear understanding of the roles of Members and Officers within the decisionmaking process is essential.
Experience of to deal effectively and establish good working relationships with people both internal and external and to present a positive image of the Leader s Office and the Council is essential.
Essential Qualification Required:
No formal qualification required but a high level of literacy and numeracy is essential.

Working hours: 37 hours per week.
