Job Title: Regional HR Advisor

Location: Covering South of England ideal candidates will be based around Milton Keynes / Oxford / Reading / Guildford areas but our candidate can be flexible for the right person

Home Based role will be a hybrid role where you will be working remotely from home but with some travel required within the region

Role is Full Time and Permanent Monday to Friday 37.5 hours a week

Salary: Up to 34,000 (depending on experience) + company car + 5% bonus opportunity (bonus is based on company performance and is not guaranteed)

Our client is one of the leading franchised Automotive retailer groups in the UK, they partner with many of the worlds leading brands and they are passionate about ensuring that their customers come first, every time, they aim to deliver an outstanding customer experience at everyone of their franchised dealerships.

They are now actively looking to recruit a Regional Human Resource Advisor to join our amazing HR team supporting all of their franchised dealership sites in the South of the UK.

This is a hybrid role where you will be working remotely and may be required to travel in some circumstances.

As a HR Advisor, you will support the business with any employee relations casework to meet suitable and fair resolution. This may include; disciplinary, grievances, absence management, flexible working, performance management and other people related matters and in instances complex casework.

You will be responsible for ensuring a fair and consistent application of company policies and processes at all times and in line with UK legalisation. You will be the first point of contact for all employee relations queries via the HR Advice Line, HR Advice dedicated email address from both employees and Line Managers.

Along with your day to day responsibilities, you may be required to contribute towards your HR strategy and other business projects that may arise such as; assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support the business, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with current and forthcoming legislation.

You will work closely with your team and Senior HR Advisor to identify and assess complexity of any case work that may require escalation to a senior member of the team. Together, you will generate new ideas of proactive interventions that will support with our driving business performance and objectives.

Main Responsibilities

As a HR Advisor you will:

  • Manage a volume and variety of employee relations cases effectively at any one time ensuring a consistent approach is applied across the business
  • Coach and support line managers to enable effective employee relations resolutions and people management capability including all formal processes, contractual obligations, terms and conditions, policies etc.
  • Be able to support conflict resolution via Mediation
  • Ensure that all correspondence sent to employee in relation to the above meets minimum standards/legal obligations and is recorded appropriately and in line with GDPR standards
  • Support development and delivery of HR/Employee Relations workshops/courses, either standard or bespoke to business need
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Senior HR Advisors, providing updates on cases, and advising of potential issues arising
  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement within HR Operations around our service offering and striving towards retail excellence
  • To support implementation of any change programmes for Resource Plan and other organisation changes


A HR background within the Automotive sector is not essential but our client are looking for an HR Advisor who has plenty of experience in Employee Relations and can come in and hit the ground running.

An immediate start is available.

A full and valid driving licence is essential and candidate must be willing to travel on occasions in the South of England region.

Requirements

As an ideal candidate for our HR Advisor position, you will have:

  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • The ability to understand and interpret company policies and procedures specifically HR policies and contractual terms and conditions of employment
  • Knowledge and experience of managing high volumes of casework / employee relations cases
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of UK Legalisation and employment law
  • Experience of coaching and training line managers
  • Ability to manage own diary to meet SLAs and ensure prioritisation in line with the business needs where necessary
  • Mediation skills desirable
  • Have the ability to think of the bigger picture in terms of solutions and to understand the business impact and risks of alternative solutions
  • Ability to quickly build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • An ability to work under pressure, work to high volumes and to remain mature and professional at all times and can be resilient under pressure
