The Senior Data Architect is a Senior IT professional skilled in Data Architecture and Data Modelling with industry knowledge of various Data Domains. They are expected to lead end-to-end data designs on Client projects and should be skilled in various Data Architecture and Data Modelling tools and frameworks.
Alongside this, they should be role models and mentors to our Data Engineers and Data Architects
Tasks
- Strength in at least one Data Domain
- Leads Design of End to End Data Solution
- Understands and re-uses Enterprise Data Models
- Understanding Customer needs and requirements
- Builds additional value and usecases for further sales opportunities
- Builds knowledge for Data Domains
- Understands wider Data quality, governance and standards
- Leads or defines Data standards
- Works on multiple projects
- Mentoring of staff who show interest towards Data Architecture
- Builds reusable designs and data models
Requirements
- Be highly capable with Data Architecture and Modelling tools and skills, including common variants (e.g. Data Vault, Kimball, etc.)
- Strong understanding of best practices, including patterns outside of common DE and DA uses (e.g. Microservices, Containerisation etc.)
- Multiple specialised skills/tech
- Actively evangelise best practices
- 'Pi-shaped'
- Working understanding of Agile delivery
- In-depth understanding of the end-to-end architecture, including tech, tools, and infra.
- Can create strong designs that incorporate NFRs (e.g. secure, performant, easily maintained etc.)
- Rapidly expand and reapply data domain knowledge to new projects, and proactively identify gaps
- Stakeholder management
