We are looking forLandscape Architectsto join our expanding team in Exeter. Whether you are working towards chartership, recently chartered, or with a few years post chartership, we are keen to hear from you.
FPCR are one of the country's leading award-winning multi-disciplinary environmental design practices, established for over 65 years. Our Exeter office has been established for around 15 years and includes a multidisciplinary team of young and enthusiastic staff who enjoy the lifestyle of being in this beautiful part of the country. Our current workload is very varied and includes green infrastructure design and implementation, public realm design, masterplanning and LVIA, for sites mainly focussed in the South West, but we do also work across the country. You will get a wide range of experience working on projects which have to address the challenges of working within the region which benefits from a number of designated landscapes with sites in varied and potentially sensitive locations from moorland to the coast. You will be involved in all stages of project development from concept design to construction, supported by the experienced team. You would work alongside architects, ecologists, arboriculturists and graphic designers within the practice.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the design and delivery of landscape and masterplanning projects and will be involved in a variety of public and private sector schemes across the UK.
Specific job descriptions will be tailored to suit the right candidate. Duties will be dependant on level of experience. Typical duties might include:
- Undertake masterplanning for residential and mixed-use schemes and produce relevant information for planning submission (including Vision Documents and Design + Access Statements).
- Prepare and supervise preparation of relevant design information for concept, planning, tender, and construction stages including 3D visuals, schedules for costing, detail design drawings, specification, and planting plans working with other team members.
- Undertake Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, and produce supporting visual material, with other team members.
- Prepare Landscape Management Plans.
- Undertake site visits and attend meetings.
- Present technical work at meetings with both clients and colleagues if required
- Collaborate and develop design with other disciplines
- Provide advice to Client and team members throughout the project.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- A relevant graduate/ postgraduate qualification
- The drive to develop their career, by experiencing the whole spectrum of landscape work
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent design skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks
- Proficient in Autocad or Vectorworks and Adobe Creative Cloud
- A good plant knowledge.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is necessary due to the nature of our business and site locations.
