We re Hiring a Project Manager

Location: Hybrid, UK-based (+ Travel to Southampton HQ and client's locations)

The role:

The Project Manager will be responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of projects to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints.

By having a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, we expect the Project Manager to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised, managing multiple concurrent project teams at any time.

The role requires you to be involved in shaping new opportunities as part of the pre-sales process, to have the proactivity and the experience to work with the Development Manager, Solution Architects and other relevant subject matter experts, to ensure the right inputs, boundaries and requirements are used in their estimates and will be a constructive challenger in validating them.



Some key areas you ll be working on:

  • End to end responsibility for the set up, delivery and close out of projects, across resourcing, timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinating deliverables and dependencies with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working with stakeholders, business sponsors and senior stakeholders to implement development projects, platforms and systems to contracted deadlines.
  • Working with external project partners, providers and vendors in a collaborative and proactive manner.
  • Managing resources and plans to ensure high quality, on time, on budget, delivery.
  • Proactive resource management and team succession planning to balance customer delivery needs alongside the need to allow our technical resources to grow and have a diverse workload.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of existing and new applications within the client ecosystem, that Alliants is accountable for through our SOWs. Leverage this knowledge to consult with the customer to scope, plan and manage optimised project delivery in alignment with an agreed product roadmap and mutually agreed timelines
  • Managing the creation and sign off of proposals and SOWs related to the client ecosystem

Important to have:

  • 2+ years experience working as a PMO Analyst or delivering small projects and enhancements as part of a wider programme with PM oversight
  • Adaptable to different customer cultures and environments, but ultimately able to work in a fast paced environment with multiple customer engagements/ discussions underway at any given time
  • Experience of using structured project management methodologies and running projects in a technology environment
  • Experience of the entire software application product development lifecycle. This includes proposal and SOW creation, ideation and discovery, to defined deliverables and the development process with front and back end developers
  • Clear and prompt communications with customers to ensure continual alignment and awareness to project delivery momentum
  • Strong emphasis on listening and understanding perspectives to allow a balanced position to be formed and communicated to people at all levels, internally and externally
  • Excellent stakeholder management and organisational skills
  • Ability to chair, facilitate and lead meetings, workshops and structured to achieve project requirements
  • Proven delivery of business change solutions to time, budget, and quality
  • Able to structure and lead customer meetings, governance forums and workshops, communicating across stakeholders at levels from most junior to c-suite
  • Able to clearly document outputs of all discussions and meetings to ensure actions, commitments and expectations can be understood and shared both by the customer and internal teams who need to support success
  • Ability to engage and build relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and team members
  • Able to position tangible and intangible business cases for investment in our services for our customers
  • Understands the commercial levers to pull to build a profitable business and manage teams and project commercials to enable that

Nice to have:

  • Exposure working with multidisciplinary teams, from pre-sales, through discovery and development
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Experience with Project Management tools
  • Good understanding of the importance of Information Security & Data Protection, adopting this knowledge during project implementation
  • Awareness of the software development QA process and ideally some hands-on experience of scoping and conducting this
