Description:
As a Youth Justice Officer, your role will involve managing cases involving young individuals either in or at risk of entering the youth justice system. Your responsibilities include assessing, planning, supervising, and enforcing disposals services for vulnerable children and adults in accordance with national Youth Justice, Social Work, and Health Care legislation, standards, guidance, and local policies and procedures.
You will also serve as the lead professional when it is in the best interest of the child/young person and family, delivering interventions using a whole-family approach. Additionally, you will take a lead in specific areas of service development and delivery to support the management team in promoting service development and performance improvement. Providing mentoring, support, guidance, supervision to staff and students, and supporting the induction of new YOS staff.
