Learning and Development Assistant







Our client is seeking a Learning and Development Assistant for a 3 month contract, 37 per week, min 2-3 days in the office.
You will support the planning, coordination and delivery of all learning and development activity, employee engagement and induction initiatives, acting as an interface between the L&D function and a range of business wide stakeholders.
You will undertake a range of general administration duties for the L&D team to support the delivery of key L&D projects which facilitate the delivery of organisational business and service plans.
Purpose:
- Support the Senior L&D Advisor, L&D Business Partners, and Head of Organisational Development.
- Lead in the initiation, development, and maintenance of systems to aid the L&D team.
- Assist in delivering key L&D projects aligned with organizational plans.
Accountability:This role reports directly to the Senior Learning and Development Advisor.
Tasks
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for L&D inquiries.
- Edit the Council s intranet and ensure consistent branding for L&D materials.
- Play a pivotal role in L&D projects, including basic eLearning edits.
- Act as an expert for the learning management system, producing detailed reports.
- Oversee the training process across WNC, from bookings to evaluations.
- Provide administrative support to the L&D team, ensuring efficient processes.
- Collaborate with the HR team to maintain standard procedures.
- Adapt to changing business needs and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Manage correspondence, diary, and meeting schedules.
- Maximize productivity and manage information securely.
- Uphold awareness of others' needs and ensure health and safety.
- Actively challenge and eliminate discriminatory practices.

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships across the business.
- Problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of office organization and record management.
- Familiarity with L&D policies and procedures.
Experience:
- Proficiency in IT software, including Microsoft programs.
- Experience in a busy office environment.
- Experience in HR is a plus.
Education:
- Minimum GCSE C or equivalent in English and Maths.
- A level or degree in a relevant field is desirable.
- CIPD qualification or working towards it is a plus.
