Front Line Manager







Due to an expansion into the Mid Cheshire region and a continuation of our long term partnership with Scottish Power Energy Networks OCU Group are now recruiting for a well motivated experienced Front line Manager Working within our existing team to undertake the planning estimating and delivery of our Major Project excavation works
Duties and Responsibilities
Excellent management and people skills are an essential quality for any OCU group manager Managing and maintaining a professional relationship with their respective teams always showing mutual respect
As major projects are issued via our planning team they will assign proposed available dates and durations to the project and Producing relevant CDM documentation The Major projects manager will be responsible to arrange an initial overview of the Major schemes The Manager will host a pre planning meeting on site including all OCU support Structure such as Commercial and Traffic Management They will also include the Client representative and all other rd party stakeholders specifically local highway authorities
The Manager will be responsible for planning all pre site health and safety commercial estimation and scheme delivery targets
To Maintain and manage full operational control of each scheme within a respective operational District Ensuring all sites are erected to meet the safest and highest quality whilst also ensuring full compliance within the agreed NRSWA guidelines for permits and noticing
Undertaking out of hours management duties on a one week in eight rota Taking calls from the SPEN control room and mobilising on call fault teams to specific locations across all operational areas within the SPEN districts Dealing with OCU Answer link services calls regaining customer satisfaction
Completing Weekly/Monthly Audits on respective Excavation Grab and support teams compiling all findings and remediations onto the OCU App
Skills and Experience
Excellent comprehension and management of Health and Safety
Experienced Man Management skills in Civils utilities
Competencies in Commercial assessment and Management
NRSWA Streetworks Manager qualification
Excellent working Knowledge of NRSWA legislation Monitoring and auditing of Sites and teams
Good customer/People skills showing compassion understanding and tolerance Dealing with and resolving any customer issues arising on working sites and confirming full customer satisfaction
Basic Computer and Tablet experience is essential Further development of this will be provided to enhance and mentor IT skills
Managing and issuing Works via Data systems
Working under regulatory targets and timeframes
