We are hiring a picture specialist auctioneer or art expert to work with a local business in Worthing.
The business is an auction house who are growing and looking to hire a skilled Picture Expert. You may have your own Antiques business and looking for a permanent role or working for another business and would like to move into a role where you can establish yourself as a leader and run a department.
No previous experience of running auctions is expected and this does not need to form part of the role.
A good rounded knowledge from Old Masters to the Modern of paintings (oils and watercolours) prints and posters.
Good interpersonal skills and an ability to win business and good client liaison.
To be able to carry our valuations at the salerooms and clients homes and be able to vett/curate the entries to the sale.
An ability to value pictures for presale/auction probate and insurance.
To be selfmotivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Be able to prepare condition reports.
To be able to respond to email enquiries.
Full drivers licence and car.
Salary 50000 to 60000 Negotiable Pension
