About the job

  • You will be responsible for all areas of credit risk for Scroll.
  • You will take ownership of the credit risk policies and models and contribute to the overall risk strategy and control and governance framework.
  • You could choose to work from our London office or our Solihull office (or remotely when suitable).

Tasks

  • Set and maintain credit risk policies for mortgage products
  • Build credit risk models used in underwriting and account management, including affordability calculators and other similar models
  • Measure, monitor and report on portfolio performance
  • Build Test and Learn and data-driven strategies to continually improve credit performance
  • Assist wider team in setting Risk strategy and Controls and Governance framework
  • Collaborate with other Scroll colleagues in supporting the company s objectives and key results
  • Deliver results, taking full ownership for your work

Requirements

  • You have deep interest in credit risk management.
  • You have experience in consumer finance space (preferably mortgages) and understand the market and regulatory context.
  • You are familiar with credit scoring models (including credit bureau reports).
  • You are highly analytical and enjoy analysing data and building models.
  • You are deeply committed to learn and grow with your team and the company.
  • You enjoy creative problem-solving, and are comfortable in a fast-moving entrepreneurial setup.

Ideal, but not required

  • Understanding of mortgage regulations (MCOB)
  • Experience in specialist mortgage sectors (buy-to-let or second mortgage)
  • Experience in building affordability calculation models for credit decisioning
  • Understanding of rating agency criteria
