What will the apprentice be doing?

Understand what hospitality means; the culture of the industry and why delivering a customer experience to meet and exceed customer s expectations is so important to hospitality businesses.
Appreciate the importance of hospitality behaviours such as personal conduct, being adaptable, using initiative and communicating with a diverse range of people.
Know the range of businesses and establishments that make up the hospitality industry, their differences and similarities and the variety of job roles and progression opportunities that are available. Meeting and greeting guests

Waiting on taking orders

Serving food and drinks to customers

Clearing and cleaning tables

Maintain the cleanliness of the trading areas and ensure correct procedures are followed for all equipment used

Taking bookings and dealing with enquiries

Handling cash and credit card transactions

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 qualifications as a hospitality team member

Blended training including one-to-one remote sessions with a dedicated tutor, on and off the job training, online classrooms and webinars.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

A hospitality team member can work in a range of establishments, for example bars, restaurants, caf s, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels or contract caterers. They can make a career by moving up in any of those fields through to management.
