BYD UK offers a range of electric vehicles including allelectric cars allelectric buses and allelectric forklift trucks. BYD are expanding its UK operations to support a growing portfolio of electric bus projects.

Main Tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that UK market technical requirements are clearly defined and relevant documents are kept uptodate and circulated to relevant staff across BYDs global R&D organisation;
  2. Review project timelines and check alignment with market expectations;
  3. Coordinating with R&D on complex technical queries;
  4. In cases where UKbased testing is required assist in the planning and execution of such tests;
  5. Coordinate with UK partners legislation compliance agencies and BYDs Chinabased homologation team to ensure type approvals are in place for UK products;
  6. Manage and maintain new and existing CMS installations;
  7. Other related activities and contingent assignments;
  8. The role reports to the Technical Manager.

Candidate profile:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree technical background is required
  • At least 5 years experience in a vehicle engineering environment
  • Proven track record in the transport or automotive industry will be advantageous
  • Good command of English is essential both written and verbal
  • Able to speak read and write in Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills ability to work under pressure
  • Good team player able to work in remote teams
  • Proactive and able to anticipate demand
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency including MS Office and MS Project
  • Able to travel to UK production facilities and occasionally to EU countries and China.
