An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced SENCO at a prestigious school in Kensington & Chelsea. Lead and manage the provision for SEN students working closely with staff parents and external agencies to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Position: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Type: Fulltime Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs ensuring that all students receive appropriate and tailored support.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers parents and external agencies.
  • Work closely with staff to support the identification assessment and monitoring of SEN students.
  • Coordinate with external agencies such as educational psychologists speech and language therapists and other professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Monitor the progress of SEN students and adapt strategies to ensure continued development and success.
  • Provide guidance and training to teaching staff on effective SEN strategies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with SEN legislation and school policies maintaining accurate records and reports.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a SENCO qualification or significant experience working in an SENCO role.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices in SEN provision.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff parents and external agencies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • A compassionate and studentcentered approach to education.
  • A DBS check is required.
