IT Support Technician


A rapidly growing IT consultancy is seeking a IT Support Technician.


About the Role

An experienced, enthusiastic, and versatile individual is required to join an established technical helpdesk team in supporting a full range of IT infrastructure solutions, primarily based around application, desktop, server and storage virtualisation technologies. Key vendors include Microsoft, Citrix, VMWare, EMC, Sonicwall, Dell and HP.










Requirements

It is expected that candidates have at least 5 years experience working in a technical support capacity, managing their own queues of support incidents and working to defined SLAs.

Essential skills:

A professional and confident manner
Attention to detail and ability to think laterally under pressure
A strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Microsoft Active Directory/Group Policies
Understanding of network infrastructure appliances such as routers, switches and wireless
network points.
Accreditation and/or experience in the majority of the following technical products:
o Microsoft 365 Administration & Apps Suite o Azure
o In Tune
o Conditional Access
o Microsoft Server Operating systems (inc. Exchange) o Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems
o Mac OSX
o Microsoft RDS
o Hyper-V
o Sonicwall Firewalls
o Veeam Backup solutions o 3CX Telephony
o N-able product range
o Scripting (Powershell)

Advantageous skills:

A strong understanding of storage systems (NAS/SAN)
Accreditation or experience in any of the following technical products/practices:
o Citrix XenApp/Xendesktop/Netscaler o SQL
o Linux
o HANA
o Symantec Cloud/Mimecast
o Cisco Networking
o Checkpoint Firewalls
o Ubiquiti Networking Equipment o Microsoft Flow

Qualifications and Certifications

Minimum GCSE or equivalent Maths and English - grade C or above Degree level education an advantage
