Specialist SEN Teacher Supportive School inHaringey

We are recruiting a Specialist SEN Teacher in Haringey to work with children with specific learning difficulties including dyslexia. This role offers the opportunity to teach small class sizes with a strong focus on individual student progress and tailored learning strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach students with specific learning difficulties including dyslexia using specialised methods and resources.
  • Design and deliver lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of each student promoting both academic progress and personal confidence.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students ensuring that teaching strategies are aligned with their specific needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress providing regular feedback to parents and the schools leadership team.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure that students receive comprehensive and consistent support.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up to date with the latest strategies and interventions for supporting children with learning difficulties.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching students with specific learning difficulties particularly dyslexia.
  • Indepth knowledge of dyslexia and other learning difficulties including appropriate teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students parents and staff.
  • Experience in working with small groups or in 1:1 settings to provide tailored support.
  • A DBS check is required.
